5 Full-time 3 days ago Full Job Description JOB This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits This position is within the Department of Adult Correction established on January 1st, 2023.
Note to Current State Employees:
The salary grade for this position is NC07.
State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position.
If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
For current State employees, please note that as of June1,2022, promotional priority and RIF priority will be determined based on the new salary grade.
Salary Grade:
NC07 Salary Range:
$34,084-$59,646 The standardized annual salary for this position is $42,264 dependent upon fund availability and OSHR approval.
Effective verbal and written communication with other staff, inmates and the general public.
Must be capable of defending oneself against attack by violent persons.
Monitor off site programs, which may require operation of a motor vehicle in a safe and secure manner at any time of the day and in varying weather and road conditions.
Work under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent and verbally abusive.
Conduct continuous visual and audio surveilance of assigned work area.
Accurately operate various office machines.
Prepare written reports and forms which accurately reflect information reviewed from various sources.
Demonstrate and instruct offenders in the proper safe use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Review, analyze and evlauate various documents and behavioral data gathered from interviews, written documentation, and personal observation, perform crisis interventions and routine counseling to include suicide prevention.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Documented knowledge of Supportive Counseling Techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
