Job Responsibilities Greets and assists patrons; checks materials in and out; issues library cards; generates patron holds and other requests; handles overdue and lost notices; updates patrons on new materials, library programs, and library services.
Assists patrons in locating library materials.
Responds to patron reference questions by telephone, email, and in person.
Assists patrons in the use of library computers, including internet navigation, the use of software programs, and the use of the librarys digital resources.
Assists with developing and implementing library programming; delivers programming in the library, in schools, and at other off-site locations.
Participates in community outreach by attending technology fairs and other community events.
Creates displays and signs promoting library programs and resources.
Shelves materials; reads and straightens shelves.
Accepts and processes book donations.
Cleans, repairs, and shelves library materials.
Performs opening and closing procedures.
Responsibilities Assigned to Specific Positions Plans and presents weekly story times; assists with the development and implementation of youth programs.
Maintains the Lincoln County room; assists patrons in researching genealogy and local history; develops programs relative to local history and genealogy.
Oversees maker space; develops and implements programs incorporating relevant and emerging technologies, including sewing machines, 3D printers, engravers, etc.
Creates digital content and programs using recording equipment and editing software.
Assists in the development and implementation of school and community outreach initiatives and programs.
Operates bookmobile; schedules service locations; assists patrons; pulls and loads materials; drives bookmobile to scheduled locations; completes reports; maintains vehicles.
Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge and Skills Required - Knowledge of modern library principles, methods, and practices.
Knowledge of county and library policies and procedures.
Knowledge of library programming principles.
Knowledge of computers, printers, and job-related software including integrated library systems.
Knowledge of equipment commonly found in an office setting.
Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
Skill in providing patron assistance and services.
Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
Skill in operating vehicle.
Skill in interpersonal relations.
Skill in reading, straightening, and cleaning library shelves.
Skill in the use of multimedia applications, mobile technology, and standard application software.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements The work is performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching.
The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects up to 50 pounds, climbs stairs and footstools, and pushes carts loaded with books.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
