Job Responsibilities Assists with the maintenance of the electronic infrastructure; performs needed repairs on malfunctioning equipment; assists users with technology requests and questions.
Deploys hardware for county and city departments; updates and configures operating systems; sets up user profiles; deploys miscellaneous hardware for city and county users.
Assists end users in the resolution of hardware issues.
Appropriates and manages technologies as assigned; researches and recommends the acquisition and implementation of hardware; maintains documentation to track the life cycle of equipment and retires hardware at the end of its life cycle.
Manages essential systems as assigned; collaborates with vendors to troubleshoot issues.
Manages, updates, repairs, and maintains hardware and devices; updates operating systems, software, and add-ons.
Performs reporting and data gathering as assigned; generates reports and spreadsheets.
Trains staff in the use of technology as assigned; provides training on the use of equipment, computer hardware, and software applications.
Prepares, updates, and maintains computers.
Maintains X-ray machine, magnetometer, and court recording equipment for the courthouse.
Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots virtual machines and workstations.
Deploys camera software.
Assists the Network Administrator with tasks related the PSAP network and other sites.
Responds to day-to-day ticket requests for various county and city departments; prioritizes emergency services tickets.
Works with the Sheriffs Office to assist with any IT issues.
Assists Director or other department managers with IT related projects, including planning, coordinating installs, working with vendors, etc.
Responds to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Manage the AV for Commissioner meetings after 8-5 hours 1-2 days monthly Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of an associate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge and Skills Required - Knowledge of information technology standards, trends, management, and security principles.
Knowledge of IT client services principles.
Knowledge of the deployment, maintenance, and upgrading of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Knowledge of PSAP IT functionality.
Knowledge of video recording devices.
Basic Understanding of network infrastructure and functionality.
Skill in problem solving.
Skill in prioritizing and planning.
Skill in interpersonal relations.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements The work consists of varied technical and client services functions.
Working with a variety of systems combined with the unique needs of each client contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to provide IT services to assigned county departments and to the City of Lincolnton.
